"At the center of your being you have the answer; you know who you are and you know what you want."- Lao Tzu

Specialty: Treatment of Chronic Stress & Related Disorders

One of Anna Palucci Young's main specialties is finding the root cause of imbalance in the body due to toxic stress and/or chronic stress.

  • To function optimally, the body needs to have sufficient amounts of rest and relaxation. If you have experienced overwhelming amounts of stress, you may find that even though you have the intention to rest and relax, your body is unable to do so. You may find that you feel yourself in a constant state of agitation or conversely, you may find that you are so chronically exhausted that you are unable to get through your day in the way you would like.

  • If you have experienced unrelenting, continued exposure to toxic chronic stress, your body's Autonomic Nervous System (Sympathetic - Fight or Flight, Parasympathetic - Rest and Digest) can become dysregulated. Some of the common disorders/syndromes that may occur are:

  • Digestive Disorders

  •  Sleep Disorders

  • Anxiety and Mood Disorders

  • Autoimmune Disorders

  • Chronic Pain Syndromes

  • Post Traumatic Stress Disorder

  • Complex Post Traumatic Stress Disorder

  • If you find yourself struggling with distressing symptoms, physical and emotional, which are keeping you from living joyfully and pain-free, acupuncture, acupressure, herbal formulas and other Eastern medicine modalities, can help to bring your body, mind and spirit back into balance.

  • These gentle, but clinically effective modalities, can assist in reminding your body of its innate ability to return to equilibrium and balance.

  • A customized treatment tailored to your specific needs and unique health goals will be created for you. This treatment plan will focus, not only on alleviating symptoms, but on resolving the root cause of the imbalance(s) which motivated you to seek treatment.

If you are already working with a psychotherapist, the above modalities can help to support and accelerate your progress in therapy. Eastern medicine modalities can be helpful whether or not you are taking medications for anxiety, depression, pain or other distressing symptoms.

Anna Palucci Young, L.Ac, AEMP is a licensed acupuncturist practicing in Mount Vernon, Washington. She has been practicing acupuncture and Eastern medicine since 2007. It has been and continues to be a vocation which she deeply loves and enjoys.

Anna specializes in treating disease and illness which has its roots in chronic stress and trauma. Many people who seek treatment for chronic, difficult to resolve, health problems often have a history of chronic, toxic, stress or are living with Post Traumatic Stress Disorder or Complex Post Traumatic Stress Disorder. Their many, sometimes varied, and difficult to diagnose, symptoms are often rooted in a nervous system which has become "dysregulated" and effective treatment must take this into consideration.

In her practice, Anna uses a combination of time tested, clinically effective, Eastern medicine diagnostic systems. When these systems are further informed by modern neuroscience including polyvagal theory and the Somatic Experiencing model of trauma, a powerful, holistic form of treatment is the result.

Her first goal with anyone who seeks treatment, is to create a safe, therapeutic environment using various Eastern medicine modalities (acupressure/light touch, herbal medicine and many more) which are incrementally effective and which neither over or underwhelms.

Eastern medicine (EM) has been in existence for thousands of years. It is a complete medical system involving the use of several different modalities which, together, function to bring the body back into balance and harmony.

Here in the U.S., acupuncture is one of the most popular and widely known modalities, but other modalities which include herbal medicine, qi gong, acupressure/massage and food therapy, are also a very important part of EM.

Eastern medicine is a holistic medical system which means that all aspects of an individual, body, mind and spirit, are taken into consideration. EM mobilizes the innate wisdom of the body to repair and heal itself.

I began taking acupuncture treatments with Anna in Feb. 2009 after suffering from chronic sinus infections for several months prior to that caused by terrible seasonal allergies. Prior to seeing Anna, I was on several kinds of medication to alleviate my allergies and sinus issues and yet still did not feel 100% healthy. My doctor had even recommended surgery. After a few months of acupuncture and drinking Chinese herbs, I was able to go off of all medication and was breathing better than I had been in a very long time.  I no longer had to consider surgery as an option. Anna also suggested other things that I could do on my own to keep my allergies in check.  Anna really cares about her patients and tries to give them all the tools possible to improve their health. Together, acupuncture and Anna's self-care suggestions have really helped to control my allergies and improve my overall quality of life.

I have Fibromyalgia, with chronic pain and fatigue. For several years I suffered terribly under an incorrect diagnosis. Once I was diagnosed, there was limited help and no relief, until I began treatments with Anna Palucci. I no longer suffer and you do not have to suffer either. I made the commitment to try acupuncture because Western medicine had no more to offer me and I was so desperate. Acupuncture helps. It really helps! And the help is multidimensional; it lessons fatigue and pain, and increases your body awareness. The stabbing and burning type pains have not reoccurred, nerve pain is managed so I can practice gentle yoga again and walk. Do this one step for yourself and your well-being: call Anna Palucci and make an appointment!"
