Ginger and Scallion Tea

Ginger and scallion tea is a classic and super easy tea to make to lessen the symptoms of the common cold.

What it is for: To treat the early symptoms of the common cold.

Who is it for: Adults and children who are generally healthy but are just starting to feel a cold coming on.

The recipe:

2 cups filtered water

4-5, 1/4 inch slices of fresh ginger

5 scallions, white parts only

Brown sugar to taste (optional)

Directions:

Add water, ginger and scallions to a sauce pan and bring to a boil. Lower the heat and cover, simmering for about 5 to 7 minutes. Strain our the liquid into a cup and add brown sugar to taste.*

*If you have a lot of congestion or phlegm, it is best not to include the brown sugar.
